2024 · Developing and delivering a program on the creative industries for civil servants, together with UNDP
Creative Industries for Public Administration (UNDP)
In February 2024, TransforNATION, together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), ran the «Creative Industries» program for participants of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The goal was to give civil servants a working understanding of what the creative industries are, how they function economically, and why they deserve a dedicated policy rather than remaining on the periphery of traditional sectoral programs.
The program fits into TransforNATION's long-standing line of work with the government apparatus — the same Academy where the flagship "Leader of a New Formation" program was previously delivered — but with a subject new to this audience: the economics of the creative industries. The partnership with UNDP added an international frame to the program, comparing the Kazakhstani context with creative-economy support practices in other countries.
For the "future creators" track, this is a rare example of working not with creators themselves, but with those who shape policy around them — a precondition for more systemic government support of the sector in the future.
